We are an experienced tree service and also a family owned and operated business.

Travis, the owner, went into the tree business in 1997 directly out of high school. Working with another large tree company for the first few years, gave him the insight that people needed a company that would actually take their time, do the job right, and build client relationships.

2000-2003 - 'Family Tree' was in the making. First we registered 'Family Tree Service LLC' with the state of MN. We purchased our first set of climbing & rigging gear, a set of Arborist pruning tools,  multiple city licenses and an insurance policy. Then we began doing maintenance work on small to medium sized trees for residents and other business owners throughout the Twin Cities.

2004-2008 - were some of our busiest years yet. Building a large list of clients mainly from referrals, the phones have kept ringing with people who heard about us through family or friends. We have made a great deal of commitment and dedication to maintain and build our clientele.

2009 - was a tough year on many, and we certainly had less call volume than previous years. Finding ways of helping people save money became a demand in order to stay in business. This has become our focus, while it has also hurled our referral rate through the roof!

2010 - there has been a great new addition to management! Travis' wife Nicole is helping out with office work, organizing, scheduling, and planning our busy days. Nicole and Travis were married in the summer of '08 and have a 7 year old daughter Emma.

Nicole came from an 11 year career in financial services where she was a keystone to her department. With all the new technology, check processing has all gone paperless.  (Save our trees!)             Her company was forced to downsize, but their loss was our gain! Now that her skills are being applied to Family Tree, some great changes have already been made, and many new to come. A much needed element to further grow a great business!

2011 - We are steadily helping restore many trees throughout the Twin Cities. We are happy to be able to make trees SAFER for people, as well as keep them healthier and nicer looking! 

2012- We have a new addition to our family! Our newborn son Leland has been keeping us extra busy this year.

2013- This is a new and exciting year! Looking to expand our business into Arborist Tool Design...

2014- We have developed 2 tools, and are continuing testing in the field. Our tree service has grown quite a bit , with a Gehl 140 loader. We also have another newborn son, Owen!

2015- Babies sure keep you busy!!!....besides that...We have restored our dumptruck to what we could , and it is dot inspected and roadworthy, but it is difficult to drive and we look to replace it in upcoming years. We added another daughter Vanessa to the bunch , to maintain the balance.

2016- We are excited for a new season! It seems the early thaw might have us busier than expected. Well, we could use a larger home for all these kiddos ...

2017-Started off again with some strong storms....We've upgraded more of our equipment, tools and systems..and looking to keep doing so! 

2018-We had twins! Surprised to be having another baby , let alone two more...Identical girls! 

2019-Recognized our niche. Fine pruning and tree removal. We are intentionally staying a small business to focus on quality of service. We are able to travel out, but our focus is jobs closer to home. Having fun at home with babies..

2020-We intend to bring prices on treework down for the consumer. Recongizing our niche has allowed us to operate more efficiently and able to offer savings.
